Making Waves {Summer News}

Happy Summer everybody! We hope you are having a wonderfully relaxing and fun-filled summer wherever you are! Today we’re going to bring you short update on what’s been happening and will be happening around here, and then we’re going to spotlight 8 amazing organizations that we’ve been able to donate some items to recently. Thanks for stopping by and giving us a read! We would always love to hear from you, so feel free to message us through Etsy, Facebook, or Instagram, use the contact form here, or shoot us a quick email. Let us know what you think and what you’d like to see in the future!

First up: what’s been happening? Lots! We’ve been hard at work here at Tickle Me Tubies, quietly busy packing up orders, making new items, and more! As some of you may have seen by now, we recently loaded tons of new Tubie Clips TM to our Etsy shop AND we started offering international shipping! That’s right, we are now shipping outside the US! (See our shipping policies on Etsy for more details) If you haven’t seen the new clips yet, be sure to check them out as well. And to those of you that have already placed an order, we want to say a huge thank you to all of you! The response to our newest clips has been just fantastic, and that’s all thanks to you.

As usual, we are (of course!) working behind the scenes on lots of exciting projects! We don’t have any quite ready to reveal yet, but we do want to give everyone a quick heads up that our shop will be taking a short break starting Sunday evening, July 16th. Tickle Me Tubies is a one woman show run by Laura, and she’ll be having surgery that week so we want to make sure everyone gets their orders in a timely fashion and none are delayed. All orders up until the shop closes will be shipped out on our usual schedule before the surgery takes place. We plan to be closed hopefully just a week (maybe even less!), but as many of you know, recovery can be unpredictable. We strive to provide all of our customers five start service from before you even place an order, so we’ll be sure to update you if plans change. We appreciate your patience during this time!

Now that business is taken care of, let’s talk donations! Thanks to the support of all of our awesome customers, we’ve been able to send out donated items to 8 more wonderful organizations! We always encourage you to check them out and see how you can get involved too, so below you’ll find a short description for each along with ways you can contact them and get involved.

Hopeful packages 1Our next package made its way to an organization not far from us called Hopeful Packages. warrior packages 1Just this past week we got to send another of our donation packages out, this time to support Warrior Packages! blanket hugs 1We also got to send out a donation package this week to Blanket Hugs! Blanket Hugs is dedicated to bringing awareness and comfort to kids fighting life threatening illnesses, and they recently began sending out Heart Packs. Heart Packs are care packages designed especially for families touched by Congenital Heart Defect (CHD). Blanket Hugs originally requested to purchase a few of our blanket hugs 2upcoming heartbeat Tubie ClipsTM a little early so they could be included in some heart packs for tubies. But we decided to go a step further and send them a special surprise donation pack with extra heartbeat clips just for them!

If you would like to find out more, apply, or donate, you can follow Blanket Hugs on Instagram and Facebook. You can also read more on their website, and support them via Go Fund Me here.

But we didn’t stop there! We always love to support the tubie and chronic illness community any way we can. Sometimes that means sending a little surprise gift pack to a tubie in need, which we did this week. Other times it means adding a few extra clips to those purchased to be donated, which we also did recently! sunflower packages 2sunflower packages 1

Sunflower Packages is another brand new organization. Their goal is to bring joy to those in the hospital through care packages. Sunflower Packages is actually on our list for donations, but we weren’t quite ready to send them a full donation pack, so they decided to purchase a few clips in the meantime to get them started. Since we do have a big bag full of clips to send out still, we decided to toss in a few extras! You can find and follow Sunflower Packages on Instagram here.

Wow, how awesome have these past few weeks been?! We are so excited to see and hear our little products travel around the world to help bring joy, character, and comfort to people everywhere. We are always up for helping others Put the ME Back in Medical!

Catching Up {Spring Service Spotlight}

Hello everybody! We hope you’re having a great weekend. Here it is already 82 and sunny we are well into Spring and on our way to Summer. We know it may seem like it’s been a little quiet around here but there’s actually been lots happening behind the scenes that we are very excited to finally share with you! Today we are spotlighting our service involvements and we’d like to share what we’ve been doing as well as you can help out many of the organizations we partner with and where we love to send donations.

If you’ve been around us long, you probably know we love to send out donations to various organizations. These are often small groups and individuals who send out some sort of care package to those struggling with an illness. We love it, and it all goes back to our mission-to help everyone with a medical device in their lives take back the medical and bring back a little bit of choice and self love into their life: to put the ME back in MEdical. Today we are so excited to share not only our recent donations to several care package organizations, but also one we have been working on for quite awhile: a package sent out to URS Medical.

urs-sentURS Medical is a medical supply company based in Waco, Texas. They send out lot of supplies, and a large portion of their patients are tubies. A representative reached out to us a few months ago asking to partner with us to distribute our tubie pads and clips to their patients, and of course we said YES! While we wanted to get things rolling with URS as soon as we could, personal medical issues delayed our plans for a little while. However, this past week we finally got to send off a large box full with 50 tubie pads and 100 tubie clips to URS! We are so excited for this opportunity and look forward to a continuing partnership. (Picture to the left is Laura with the box we sent off to URS Medical)

Not only did we get to finally send off a box to URS Medical this week, but we also sent off a few more packages of donations! The first package was one sent to The Happy Package Project. We sent them a package (picture on the left below) with a tubie bear, 8 tubie pads, and 12 tubie clips to include in their care packs.

The Happy Package Project is an organization run by Sarah (picture on the right above), who sends out surprise care packages to those going through a life altering experience. You can connect with them through Instagram (@happypackageproject) and Facebook to learn more. They are always in need of donations such as small items to include in packages, tissue paper (used or new), but are particularly low on funds to ship out packages right now. #TheHappyPackageProject

Whope-blanketse also had a chance to send out 8 tubie pads, 12 tubie clips, a bear with a central line, and a few stress balls we’ve collected to Hope Blankets. Hope Blankets is run by Emily (picture to the rhope-blankets-donation-receivedight below), who sends out handmade blankets along with a few other items in care packages to children with cancer, a chronic illness, or a mental illness. If you would like to get involved, you can connect with them via Instagram (@hope.blankets). They accept donations of items such as headbands, coloring books, stuffed animals, toys, and more, as well as donations to help cover the cost of blanket supplies and shipping costs. You can also sponsor a child to receive a blanket and a care package.

jars-for-starsThe forth package of donations we sent out last week went to Jars for Stars. Jars for Stars is an organization started by 14 year old Jordan, and sends out care packages (jars) to kidsjars-for-stars-donation ages 0-15 with a life altering illness. They have sent out over 100 packages we are so excited to support them! We sent 8 tubie pads, 12 tubie clips, and a number of other items we have been collecting. You can learn more or apply by visiting their their website, and you can contact them through Facebook, Instagram (@jarsforstars), or by email to get involved. You can send items to include in the jars they send out, or donate to help cover shipping and other costs. You can also choose to sponsor a specific child.

As always, we love to support these kind of organizations and we’d love to get you involved too. You can check out their links above and as always can feel free to contact us to learn more or for help getting connected.

This was our week, Tickle Me Tubies style! What was yours like? We’d love to hear!
